Located in the exact center of Luna County, New Mexico along Interstate 10, the county seat of Deming was founded in 1881 near the junction point of the second transcontinental railroad. Named for Mary Ann Deming, wife of 19th Century railroad magnate Charles Crocker, the community of Deming has much to offer travelers along the Mimbres-Paquime Connection Loop Trail including historic buildings; scenic mountain landscapes; an outstanding museum; New Mexico's largest winery; exciting annual events; great restaurants; and year-round sunshine.
